FOODSERVICE AUSTRALIA RAISES THE BAR HIGHER IN 2018

The dynamic ICC Sydney at Darling Harbour will host Foodservice Australia 2018, with more than 300 exhibitors plus competitions, workshops and a conference all on one floor.

As the fastest-growing food trade exhibition in Australia, the Foodservice Show has been going from strength to strength in recent years, adding a highly esteemed National Restaurant Conference, the celebrated Savour Patissier of the Year competition and the biennial Bocuse d’Or Australian Selection to its portfolio.

“By moving to the new convention centre at Darling Harbour, we can accommodate even more exhibitors, visitors and special events,” said event director Tim Collett.

“Next year we will host a brand new restaurant competition staged by the Australian Culinary Federation (ACF), called ‘Restaurant of the Year’, which will see restaurant teams compete in live kitchens on the show floor.”

As the ACF’s Battle of the Pacific event, Restaurant of the Year will complement the longstanding Chef of the Year competition, which over the past decade has become one of the country’s leading contests for professional chefs.

Collett added that although competitions like these are important drawcards to the show, the focus will remain firmly on foodservice, which means buyers and sellers can get straight down to business.

Running from 27-29 May 2018, the trade-only show will attract over 9000 industry professionals to see more than 300 exhibitors across the show floor, presenting food and beverage products, kitchen equipment, hospitality technology, entertainment, furniture and fittings, and much more.

Exhibitors have noted the growth and evolution of Foodservice Australia in recent years, with many commenting on the quality leads generated from the event.

“We believe that this show is becoming the number one food show in Australia and continues to draw a higher quality of visitors than the rest,” said Andrew Pritchard, national business development manager at JL Lennard.

This exhibitor confidence has lead to strong bookings that are running well ahead of schedule. In addition stands ranging from 4m2-72m2 are well priced and include lots of extras to make exhibiting easier.

For visitors there will be a range of exciting features covering every aspect of the industry with a compelling conference, elite competitions, practical workshops and inspiring demonstrations.

They include:

National Restaurant Conference – featuring leaders and legends of the hospitality industry.

Savour Patissier of the Year – organised by Kirsten Tibballs from Savour Chocolate and Patisserie School, with renowned national and international judges.

Chef of the Year – professional chefs compete live in heats against the clock and each other for cash prizes.

Restaurant of the Year – held by the Australian Culinary Federation, with teams competing live on the show floor.

Café School – free workshops throughout the show to help café owners take their business to the next level.
