Pure Saffrona supplies gourmet certified and non-certified organic Persian saffron and other Persian herbs worldwide.
What is your company background, how did you start the business? Who are the owners?
“PureSaffrona’s owner Mehdi comes from a family of farmers and teachers in the north eastern part of Iran where 95% of the world’s saffron – up to 300 tons per year – is grown. Mehdi’s family owns Novin Saffron, the largest and most innovative saffron producer in the world. In 1998, they were the first in the world to receive HACCP certification for saffron, then in 2001, became the first in the world to receive ISO 14001 certification in the field of saffron. I’m very excited to bring this business to New Zealand and Australia. I guarantee you won’t find saffron of this quality at a better price. We are proud to offer our clients A-grade high quality saffron at a competitive price. This rare spice is considered the most expensive in the world, well worth its weight in gold due to its rich in health benefits.”
What is the current product range and variants and how do these products stand out in the market?
“We support fair trade organic regulations to access high quality Saffron, and other gourmet ingredients including Barberry, Rosebuds and Rose Petals, Borage and Persian Nougat.”
Has there been any recent company news?
“We are excited to introduce our latest product to the market, Certified Organic Saffron. We are proud that our saffron is currently being used in Pharmaceutical companies like Integria and MD Revision, because of its high quality, in their Vision Support Tablets.”
What are the plans for the business moving forward, is there any expansion on the horizon?
“We plan to introduce our medicinal organic saffron to chain organic supermarkets in Australia, US and Europe. Our next product that we are going to introduce to the market is Fresh Iranian Dates.”
