AUSTRALIA | Yee Haw! Hallmark Hospitality has opened Coyote’s Roadhouse in Maroochydore’s Ocean Street entertainment precinct, bringing together live music across two stages, regular line dancing, country-style food, and a mechanical bucking bull.
Described by Hallmark Hospitality as the Sunshine Coast’s first dedicated beachside country and western saloon, Coyote’s Roadhouse opened last month and operates seven days a week, from 11am until late. Its drinks offering takes inspiration from the country theme, alongside a smokehouse-themed menu.
Hallmark Hospitality director Cade Hopman said the group worked with Gold Coast-based Space Cubed Design Studio to transform the premises. The fit-out includes an installation of 50 Ariat boots hanging from the ceiling, country-themed artwork, and taxidermy mounts.
“The venue is completely unrecognisable from its previous incarnation, we’ve worked with award winning Gold Coast-based Space Cubed Design Studio to create a saloon bar which will be iconic for the coast and we believe it will attract locals and tourists from across the region and beyond.”
A dedicated Games Hall houses the venue’s signature mechanical bull alongside country-themed pinball machines and the traditional pub game Ring the Bull. Hopman said the intention was to create a welcoming space with live music and country and western entertainment at its centre.
“We wanted to create a space which was authentic and welcoming to anyone of any age, particularly those who love live music and warm, unpretentious outback hospitality. Whether you are a coastal cowboy or a city slicker, we will have country and western entertainment in spades, along with country-inspired drinks and a smokehouse-themed menu to round out the offering,” said Hopman.
The opening follows Hallmark Hospitality’s addition of Foxy Malone’s Irish Pub in Mooloolaba earlier this year. Its newest additions also include Gas Hound Bar & Kitchen in Newstead and Pop World Nightclub in Fortitude Valley.
The privately owned group has owned and operated venues across Brisbane, the Gold Coast, and Toowoomba. Its previous portfolio has included Lefty’s Music Hall, The Lord Alfred Hotel, Finn McCool’s Irish Bar, Hey Chica, Retro’s Nightclub, Sandbar, and The Spotted Cow Hotel.
