Faradays has announced a partnership with Emett Group to create Lottie's, a new all-day dining destination.
The restaurant has been named after Charlotte Milne, one of the founding sisters of Auckland's iconic Milne & Choyce department store. It has been designed as a place where guests can meet friends for lunch, enjoy afternoon tea, celebrate a special occasion or simply take a break while exploring the store.
Located at the heart of Auckland's newest premium department store, Lottie's will be an integral part of Faradays set to open in September 2026.
The project was a natural fit and marked the latest venture from Emett Group, led by Josh and Helen Emett, whose portfolio includes Auckland institutions in heritage buildings such as Onslow and Gilt Brasserie.
“Lottie's continues that philosophy, bringing together two businesses with a shared commitment to quality and creating exceptional experiences,” said Josh Emett.
"For us, this is about creating more than a restaurant. It's about creating a destination that feels connected to the history of the building while becoming part of Auckland's future."
Helen Emett added that the concept was deeply personal, inspired by childhood memories that shaped her understanding of hospitality as her grandmother would take her to Selfridges, where they would spend the day wandering through the department store before stopping for lunch.
“I remember it feeling so special. It was such a treat, and I couldn't wait for my next visit. Those days left a lasting impression on me and inspired the kind of experience we wanted to create with Lottie's,” she said.
Zach Meads, who has been with Onslow for the past four years, will lead the kitchen at Lottie's as Head Chef. Further details, including the menu and signature dishes, will be announced closer to opening.
