AUSTRALIA | Dine Out with Uber Eats has officially landed in Sydney, marking its Australian debut as foodies from across the city prepare for the craze.
In a world first, Dine Out with Uber Eats has arrived Down Under, giving hungry Sydneysiders access to hundreds of in-person dining deals at their favourite restaurants, all through the Uber Eats app.
To celebrate, we’re hosting House of Eats: a one-night-only pop-up bringing together some of Sydney’s most iconic and beloved institutions for a fun-but-fancy feast curated by acclaimed chef, Danielle Alvarez.
The four-course degustation will showcase exclusive dishes from Dine Out partner restaurants, including Rose Bay waterside institution Catalina, Italian neighbourhood favourite Fabbrica, and cult burger barons Mary’s. The talented team at P&V, neighbourhood bottle shops, wine bar and liquor merchants, will also be on board to serve a Verde Negroni and expertly paired wines throughout the evening. and expertly paired wines throughout the evening.
“Sydney has some of the best dining in the world, a bold mix of cultures, incredible produce, emerging talent, and iconic venues that have stood the test of time. This collaboration brings that energy to the plate. Mary’s is fun and approachable, Fabbrica is serving up some of the best pastas in the country, while Catalina is a true institution of over 30 years. Plus, P&V have some of the best palettes around and always surprises me with new, old and unexpected wines,” commented Danielle Alvarez.
“We’ve created a menu that’s playful, full of flavour, and a tribute to what makes each venue so beloved. Bringing them together was a delicious challenge, each so different, but all part of Sydney’s rich dining fabric. In the rush of the everyday, there’s something so powerful about connecting with friends, families and loved ones when dining out. It’s good for the soul, and good for the city too.”
Debuting in Sydney, Dine Out is a global-first for Uber Eats, designed to give people more affordable dining options, while helping restaurants fill seats during the traditionally slower winter season.
“At Uber Eats, we’ve become known for bringing local restaurant food into Aussie homes – now, we’re helping people get out and enjoy those restaurants in person,” said Ed Kitchen, Managing Director, Uber Eats Australia and New Zealand.
“We’re incredibly privileged to be launching Dine Out in Sydney, supporting local businesses and giving people the affordable dining options they’ve been asking for. With winter often bringing a dip in foot traffic, we hope this helps drive more diners through the doors. And as a proud Melburnian, I’m making sure that Victoria’s not far behind, watch this space.”
Sydney was selected to lead the global launch thanks to its thriving restaurant scene and tech-savvy diners, marking the first time Australia has piloted a new Uber Eats product of this scale.
