Saputa Dairy Australia has officially launched its Australian-made frozen shredded mozzarella designed for the food service industry.

In a revolutionary step for food service outlets, Saputo Dairy Australia (SDA) recently launched its Australian-made Individually Quick Frozen (IQF) shredded mozzarella into market under their  Fred Walker brand.

The innovative IQF process snap-freezes each individual piece of high-quality freshly made mozzarella in just three minutes, before the product is packed and stored frozen until it’s ready for use. This approach locks in taste and texture while offering flexibility and convenience for customers.

IQF ensures consistent quality and reliable sourcing. With a 365-day frozen shelf life and the ability to use it straight from the freezer or thawed, it is ideal for regional venues and busy pizza restaurants across the country. 

Customers have noted the product helps to streamline back of house operations, enabling them to better manage demand fluctuations with greater efficiency and less waste. These are critical benefits amid rising cost of living pressures on businesses.

Launch of the Fred Walker IQF mozzarella follows years of cross-functional collaboration within SDA. This included product development and shelf-life studies, commissioning a new designated production line, factory trials through to full scale production and rolling out the product to market.
