Popular southern Gold Coast watering hole, the Kirra Beach Hotel, has officially reopened its doors after closing its doors for business over the past three years.
The so-called quintessential Aussie pub has been a staple for customers since its opening in 1956 and is primely located in the new Kirra Point precinct. Many core staff have returned following the bar’s closing. It is said that the bar still has its ‘old-school pub charm’ and is rippled with nostalgic excerpts of the past.
The bar has been described as the perfect venue for any guest, whether it is laid-back ambience, friendly staff, or a post-surf latte.
Located on the corner of Marine Parade and Miles Street, the Kirra Beach Hotel covers 1300 square meters of space. Following its reopening, a beer garden and a family-friendly bistro, public bar, children’s area, sports bar, and a boutique liquor store have been added. A new underground carpark has extended parking to 130 spaces, making it a practical and accessible location.

A newly crafted menu has also been added, offering a selection of traditional pub favourites, lighter meals, and platters for sharing. Different types of schnitzel, fish and chips, and beef rissoles have returned as crowd-pleasing options, whilst new additions include fresh salads, raw seafood options, and burgers. Other dishes on the menu have been inspired by Asian cuisine and new cuts of beef and locally sourced fish cooked on the grill.
Fresh seafood, such as natural and Kilpatrick oysters, prawns, tempura dishes, and seafood platters for sharing, has featured prominently on the menu.
The Kirra Beach Hotel is the first of two hospitality properties to open in the first stage of KTQ Group’s Kirra Point Precinct. Kirra Beach House is expected to open before 2024. The building’s architecture was inspired by its location and meaning to the local community. Coastal and beach lifestyles have frequently been featured as main design themes along with the surrounding landscape.
