For any Sydney local, The Rocks is an area of the city often associated with bars, restaurants, cafés and the finest of Australian cuisine. Known for its busy foot traffic and residential and commercial neighbourhoods, The Rocks is the perfect location for any hospitality business owner.
The latest opening is George Street Food Gallery, which launched in early December. The pop-up location is a collection of local names, such as Junda Khoo’s Ho Jiak, Palisa Anderson’s Love Child, and Diego Luna’s Los Fridos, and joined together for a limited time in an outdoor precinct.

Satay chicken spring rolls, seafood laksa, and char kway teow have graced the menu at Ho Jiak, whilst Mexican dishes are served at Los Fridos, including flautas, tamales, and chilaquiles.
An influx of flavour has landed from Chat Thai’s Palisa Anderson, with a newly crafted bespoke menu inspired by cuisine from across Asia, from Korean, Vietnamese, Thai, and Chinese dishes.
An array of options has also been offered from Palisa Anderson, with coconut chicken rice, cold noodle bowl and prawn cake, beef betel leaf kofta, and satay pork skewers highlighting the menu.
George Street Food Gallery is a smorgasbord of rich and varied cuisine and has showcased the popular trend of pop-up restaurants. By allowing customers the opportunity to have a one-off dining experience, pop-up restaurants become an effective way for chefs to share their culinary creations. Just in time for summer, the George Street Food Gallery has taken advantage of Sydney’s climate and for the arrival of international tourists.
A conclusion date for the George Street Food Gallery is yet to be announced.
