Meet The Barista | Shar McElligott, The Nourished Eatery

Shar McElligott has been in the coffee industry for almost a decade now. Having opened her cafe at the young age of 22, nine years later she also has two self-published cookbooks. 

McElligott has always loved putting a smile on people's faces by chatting with them while making their morning coffee. She believes that the pink aesthetic of the cafe, with the food, flowers, kind messages and their eye-catching pink coffee machine, also adds to customers' happiness. 

The Nourished Cafe is a proud user of Flight Coffee and many other local brands like AllGood oat milk. With the slogan "Good Coffee for Kind People and Kind Food for Good People," the Nourished Cafe are known for gluten-free and vegan doughnuts, which they make every Friday and Saturday. McElligott shared that she did not intend to have a vegan cafe; she just happened to make vegan food. 

McElligott is a true coffee lover, starting her day with a long black or an americano and ending it with a delicious oat milk flat white with half a pump of cameo vanilla coffee syrup. According to her, the critical steps of making a great coffee are; knowing to dial the machine, pouring an excellent shot and steaming the milk. Making it with love and handing it over to the customer with a smile adds to the greatness. 

McElligott enjoys hiking, travelling, and trying new cafes when she is not busy running the cafe. She also likes interior designing and dreams of travelling to France.
