The group behind the International Wine Challenge (IWC) has created Canopy, a digital publication designed to connect the international winemaking community. Canopy will share stories and best-practice among the world's winemakers and encourage them to exchange insights and ideas, giving the IWC community a tool to discuss issues and topics at the heart of the winemaking world.
Chris Boiling, award-winning drinks journalist, wine writer and part-time winemaker in Slovenia, will serve as editor of the fortnightly journal, which will be available on the IWC website and emailed to winery owners, winemakers and viticulturists.
Canopy will offer winemakers profiles, including behind the scenes interviews, vineyard management hints, insights and news from various regions, best practices for the industry, current and emerging trends in the wine industry and crucial information on exporting wines to different countries
Many of the IWC’s international judges, who include Masters of Wine, wine writers, buyers, consultants and retailers, will contribute to the new publication. Editor Chris Boiling says: “The aim is to inspire wine producers to create even better wines and connect them on a global scale”.
The first issue is available now and includes:
- An interview with IWC Red Winemaker of the Year, Hervé Joyaux Fabre, who makes Malbec in Argentina and France
- The secrets of making a great-tasting, great-value red
- Top tips for caring for vines from acclaimed viticulturist Rosa Kruger
