Lemon Lime and Bitters

Lemon, Lime and Biters has long been a standout favourite from punters globally, with its mix of sweet and sour tantalising the taste buds.

Enjoyed in both alcoholic and non-alcoholic servings, Lemon, Lime and Bitters is a classic cocktail that can be enjoyed by all.

Originally crafted back in the 1880s, the popular beverage has since gone on to be referred to as “Australia’s unofficial cocktail”, with New Zealand sharing its love.

For those who prefer the alcoholic version, adding gin to the mix provides a lush, tropical and refreshing taste. A traditional Lemon, Lime and Bitters contains lemonade, lime juice or flavoured cordial, and four to five splashes of Angostura bitters.

Garnishing is a breeze, with simple ways such as lime or lemon rind served with ice, to herbs such as mint or rosemary adding a nice touch.

To add an extra element of fruity flavour, guava, pomegranate, orange, and grapefruit add to the tropical taste. Citrus is key to this cocktail, due to two of its main ingredients being lemon and lime.

In the lead-up to summer, tropical cocktails are set to be in progressive demand. By experimenting and crafting the perfect blend in preparation for the warmer months, your establishment will reap the benefits down the track.
