New Zealand's best burgers will once again be on show, as Burger Nation prepares to highlight some showstopping masterpieces.
Burger Nation is back on the hunt for the best burger in Aotearoa, with entries now open for 2025.
Hospo folks around the country have been invited to register their tallest, outrageous and most creative burgers in any of the competition's four categories: Meat, Plant-based, Chicken and Seafood.
Those burgers then go on their menus in January 2025 for a nationwide celebration of the beautiful burger, supported by Becs and Nick of Cook & Nelson.
Throughout the entirety of October, early bird registration is open for hospo venues around the country, with a discounted entry fee of NZD $99+GST per venue. From the first of November, general registration will open at NZD $120+GST per venue (or $99+GST for multi venues). On the 30th of November, final burger details (including photo) due to the peeps at Burger Nation, so they can prepare for the event. From the 29th of January to the 2nd of March, Burger Nation frenzy sweeps Aotearoa, with hospo venues putting their salty, fatty, rich and unique burger creations on their menus for a summer of Burger Lovin’.
It is expected that over 500 venues will enter a very special burger for 2025, the competition’s second year. A new people’s choice award will decide the best burger in the nation, for the people, but the people, once the competition wraps up in early March.
In 2024, a total of 250 eateries took part from Havelock North to Hataitai, Mangawhai to Morrinsville, Ngatea to New Plymouth, Piha to Petone, Waiheke to Waipiata and Chartwell to the Catlins, burger lovers were in for a lip-smackingly good summer.
