Auckland restaurateur fined

Ravi Singh, director of Raviz, formerly in Botany, but now operating elsewhere, has been fined $5000 for failing to fix compliance issues. The Employment Relations Authority said that the fine is related to record keeping and withholding public holiday pay entitlement.

The business was found to have not kept accurate pay and leave records in addition to having withheld holiday pay from a staff member who had worked 11 public holidays.

Initially, Singh was given notice to fix the compliance issues, but upon reexamination, it was found that he had failed to show that necessary payments had been made or compliance achieved. Singh was then ordered to $5000 for failing.
