Zambrero Donate 70 Million Meals

Mexican cuisine QSR chain, Zambrero, has distributed over 70 million meals as part of its campaign to end world hunger, ‘Plate 4 Plate’.

Since the initiative began, ‘Plate 4 Plate’ has created a global movement to abolish hunger, and to motivate Mexican food lovers from all over Australia to come together for the cause. Every burrito, bowl, retail item, or kids Zam Box purchased at Zambrero restaurants would correspond to one meal provided to someone in need.

Zambrero’s ‘Feel Good Mex’ campaign was established to allow customers to enjoy their favourite meals, but also to do good in the world fell well within the company’s values.

To allow customers to witness the difference they make first-hand, ‘Plate 4 Plate’ counters have been set up in restaurants.

CEO of Zambrero, Matthew Kenny, said that there is still a long way to go yet.

“Alongside our not-for-profit partners Rise Against Hunger, Love Mercy, and Foodbank, as well as our loyal Zambrero customers and volunteers, we will continue working towards our goal of donating a billion meals to those in need,” said Kenny.

The milestone reach of 70 million meals has occurred just as Zambrero prepares to host its annual ‘Plate 4 Plate Day’ in mid-October. The event will be held across major cities in Australia, including Sydney, Gold Coast, Perth, Melbourne, and Adelaide, with an aim to beat its record of packing 430,000 meals in one day.
