THAIFEX’s Innovative Expo

THAIFEX's Innovative Expo

The innovative and sustainable future of hotels, restaurants, and catering (HORECA) emerged at THAIFEX- HOREC Asia 2024 expo.

Co-organised by the Department of International Trade Promotion, the Thai Chamber of Commerce, and Koelnmesse, the landmark event offered an immersive and exciting exploration of the industry's future in Southeast Asia.

THAIFEX- HOREC caters to a surge in the hospitality sector and, in return, brings new investments and opportunities to the industry.

The event's theme was 'shaping the future of HORECA', emphasising the event's commitment to pioneer change and foster industry growth through innovative solutions. Stakeholders within the industry attended, expressing their delight at the trade show for their needs.

From March 6th to 8th, the three-day event attracted 359 exhibitors from over 23 countries and 15,851 unique trade attendees from 68 countries. Projections indicated that trade receipts from the show amounted to USD $91 million in the upcoming year.

"THAIFEX- HOREC Asia 2024 has surpassed our expectations and become a catalyst for industry evolution," stated Mathias Keupper, managing director and vice president of Koelnesse.

"By bringing together the brightest minds and latest innovations, the show is helping to shape the future of HORECA in the Asia Pacific region.”

Kuah Soo Sang, regional manager for UNOX, was satisfied with the event's outcome.

"This show has been very, very good for us. We are meeting the right kind of buyers and making a lot of appointments. We have a lot of potential deals to work on immediately after the event."

Several brands took the opportunity to launch new products at THAIFEX- HOREC Asia, like the world debut of HOBART's FX and FP's 'cutlery premium' feature of dishwashers.

In addition to this, Italian company Elmeco Srl debuted the Elmeco Matrik, a new self-service slushie machine with a straightforward consumer interface, portion control and connectivity.

"This show is exciting, especially if you come from another region, because you can find products to sell in Europe and elsewhere," stated visitor Mike Vakrushev.

Nearly 40 percent of exhibitors presented sustainable solutions, ranging from energy-efficient appliances to management systems for food waste. Due to the rise of health-conscious and environmentally aware consumers, plant-based and wellness exhibitions also increased.
