Meet The Barista | Matt Ferragati, Paname Social

Parisian Matt Ferragati began his hospitality career two decades ago, working at various businesses from cafes, pubs and bistros to fine dining restaurants and Michelin stars.

"New Zealand has been the spark to develop my barista skills as Kiwis love a good cup of coffee, and there is no better way to start the day right," said Ferragati.

Coffee is what fuels people up, and every corner of every terrace in Paris has someone drinking a coffee, whether it is an espresso, a long black, a flat white or a cappuccino, making things interesting, getting to know people's "Noir Desirs" with a good cup of coffee.

With one of the tastiest coffees, espresso martinis and beautiful French pastries, this Parisian scene is brought to Auckland. Paname Social offers a French menu from 7 a.m. breakfasts to late-night delicious dinners.

"We close our doors at 11 p.m. because we feel that people will be happy to find a lovely place to get a good wine any day of the week, even late."

According to Ferragati, whether you like it dark or with milk, a good coffee must have a good balance and ensuring this balance is the key to keeping customers coming back.

"I like my espresso as the first coffee of the day; the good balance of bitterness and acidity makes it the best coffee of the day."

Paname Social will be one of the best places this summer, especially when the sun hits the terrace outside.
