McDonald’s Australia has included three new Matcha beverages to its permanent menu, with New Zealand expansion expected.
The Matcha craze has been a key influence within the QSR market for some time. Its role in introducing new flavours and beverage innovation will now be found at McCafe outlets across the country.
Earlier this year, a limited trial sent matcha lovers into a meltdown. TikTok lit up. Instagram feeds turned green. The verdict? Aussies were obsessed with Macca’s matcha, and they wanted more.
Now, Macca’s is answering the call with three brand-new matcha creations that are bold, beautiful and bursting with flavour.
“This isn’t just a drink drop - it’s a full-blown matcha movement. And now, it’s got that Macca’s magic. Whether you’re post-pilates, mid-yap sesh, or just chasing that main character energy, these drinks are the little treats you deserve,” McDonald’s Australia said in a statement.
The three new flavours include the Strawberry Matcha Iced Latte, a velvety matcha paired with a sweet strawberry topping and real fruit pieces, blended with milk and ice, and the Matcha Iced Latte, described as simple and effortlessly iconic.
The Matcha Hot Latte will also be available on the menu as well.
Amanda Nakad, Marketing Director of Menu and Brand for McDonald’s Australia, said McCafe has a sip for every mood and at any time of the day.
“The response to our Matcha trial was next-level, fans flooded social media with excitement and made one thing clear: they wanted more,” she said.
“The new McCafé Matcha Range is our answer to that call. It’s delicious and it’s the kind of pick-me-up that turns your everyday into something extraordinary. Matcha fans, this is the little treat you deserve.”
The range of Matcha beverages will officially join the menu on Wednesday 29th of October.
