LAUGHING OWL FUDGE

Kylie Alexander is the mind behind Laughing Owl Fudge. After 14 years spent travelling and working as a qualified chef in Switzerland, London, Ireland and Scotland, where she ran her own successful fudge business, Kylie Alexander has returned home to the Wairarapa with her Scottish family to continue her fudge success.

What are the current product range and variants and how do these products stand out in the market?
“Laughing Owl Fudge stands out from any other fudge as it’s good old-fashion fudge like Grannies made, using traditional ingredients and containing no artificial stabilisers or additives. Our product range is all handmade and consists of Russian, Chocolate, Bourbon, Coffee Liqueur and a new Olive oil fudge using local olive oil.”

Has there been any recent company news?
“As our company embraces local products and supports local businesses, I am currently working on a honey fudge using a local Greytown honey.”

What are the plans for the business moving forward, is there any expansion on the horizon?
“Laughing Owl Fudge is a small local business, looking to develop a website in the near future and sell online. At the moment, we are concentrating on the local area and local customers. Customer satisfaction is a high priority and consistency with our flavours is important. I would like to continue to develop flavours with other local producers, working together.”

Where are your products currently available to buy, and are you looking at or wanting to expand your availability? If so, where would you like to see the product situated?
“Our range can be found at Moore Wilson's Wellington, Porirua and Masterton stores. It's also available from South Wairarapa business including the Lolly Jar, Pinehaven Orchard shop in Greytown, Martinborough Wine Merchants and P&K Martinborough. Additionally, you will find the fudge at local markets and some up and coming events locally.”
