HOT DOG! THAT’S ONE FINE SNACK

There’s nothing more American than a hot dog. No baseball game is complete without a soda and a damp sausage inside an even damper bun. However, chefs across the United States are beginning to expand on the traditional trifecta of bun, sausage and sauce. Check out these wild dogs!

THE BACON WEREWOLF – DAT DOG

This combo of Slovenian sausage, bacon, Creole mustard, sauerkraut, dill relish grilled onions and tomatoes comes served in a leaf of romaine lettuce.

THE ROOK DOG – ROOK

Rook, a contemporary Asian fusion restaurant in Indianapolis, has delivered the Rook Dog – Chinese mustard, kewpie mayo, sauerkraut, bonito flakes, sliced jalapeño and beer-pickled mustard seeds.

THE HAWAII DOG – HANK’S HAUTE DOGS

The name may not be the most imaginative, but this is a fresh new take on a traditional Hawaiian breakfast. Hawaiian Portuguese sausage, traditionally sliced for breakfast, is kept in sausage form and scored then grilled, before being nestled in mango mustard and pineapple relish.
