The Gluten Free Store is a family-based business established primarily to provide Coeliac safe baking product to manufacturers and retailers of gluten-free food. It is also available to individuals who wish to purchase ingredients in bulk and at discount prices. They have searched the globe to source the best ingredients at the best prices.

What is your company background, how did you start the business?

When Liz Jury was diagnosed with Coeliac disease 10 years ago, and voiced her concern to her husband Mike, about the safety of the flours she was buying from various sources, came the idea of importing flours and having them tested to ensure they were safe. What started as around 10 flour varieties, has turned into forty-one products currently available which includes an extensive range of baking mixes, made up of five Bread varieties, Cakes, Ginger Loaf and Brownie, with two Biscuit flavours as well as a Cracker Mix. Old fashioned Scone, Pizza Base and Batter mixes, give the consumer a great range to take the guesswork out of gluten-free baking.

What is the current product range and variants and how do these products stand out in the market?

Current product range varies from dry premixes to semifinished pasta range, also few unique sundry products such as gluten-free baking powder, Xanthan gum, Guar gum and Tara gums, Chia and Flax Seeds, Psyllium Husk and Yeast, to ensure our customers are also able to purchase everything they need to bake from scratch in their own kitchen. We now have an exciting and excellent fresh gluten-free pasta range, which is all produced from their Wiri factory in Auckland.

What are the plans for the business moving forward, is there any expansion on the horizon?

There are numerous opportunities that we are currently working on, including exporting to Australia. We are also working on many new products to extend our pasta range. Currently, there are very limited fresh products available for the consumers with gluten-free diet, and we are working towards extending our range so that the consumers' demand can be fulfilled.

Where are your products currently available to buy, and are you looking at or wanting to expand your availability?

Currently, our product range is available through major supermarkets such as New World, Pak’n’Save and Countdown, also through specialty health stores and boutique grocery stores such as Bin Inn.
