Fresh Ideas to Celebrate International Burger Day

Burgers are one of the few dishes worldwide that can combine almost any type of ingredients and still taste amazing.

International Burger Day is approaching, falling on May 28th. This is the perfect opportunity to introduce a new and vibrant menu item for the occasion.

Almost every restaurant globally will offer some burger variation on its menu, and with endless possibilities, there truly is something for everyone. Instead of sticking to the same old concept, why not jazz it up and think outside the box?

Start the day off strong with a breakfast burger, the most important meal of the day. In a breakfast burger, you could include anything that is usually part of a full-cooked breakfast. Fried eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, mushrooms, sundried tomatoes, cheese, and breakfast sausages would all make a tasty way to start the day. Consider theming a burger to a specific breakfast dish, such as a poached egg with hollandaise sauce, to make an 'Eggs Benedict Burger.'

Pan-fried fish will create that perfect salty and crispy combination loved by many. Adding fresh fish with a bed of lettuce, tomato, aioli, and other condiments will create a succulent flavour burger.

Sticking with the seafood theme, a shrimp katsu burger will provide all the crispness and tenderness diners want and is inspired by Japanese cuisine. Serve with shredded cabbage and select the heat with sauce.

For those who follow a vegan diet, you can still celebrate. A falafel is an excellent substitution for a meat patty and offers an incredibly healthy alternative. Falafel is also very easy to make and experiment with too. Roasting the chickpeas to the point before they start to crisp will draw out a ton of moisture, leaving you with a perfectly tender patty. They also go nicely with a lemon yoghurt sauce.

Instead of playing it safe, offer something new this International Burger Day, and let your creative juices run wild.
