Cheesecake Shop Partner with Flinders Foundation.

With the aim of increasing awareness and research support into cancer, The Cheesecake Shop in South Australia has partnered with the medical charity, Flinders Foundation.

The campaign will see The Cheesecake Shop donate $1 from every specially crafted cupcake towards the charity. Customers are also encouraged to add an additional $2 donation to the purchase. The campaign is to coincide with Prostate Awareness Month.

The Flinders Foundation work to support individuals and organisations with medical research and patient care. Funds are raised to deliver better treatments and to advance technology within the sector.

Executive director of Flinders Foundation, Ross Verschoor, said that the charity was grateful to The Cheesecake Shop and its customers for the ongoing support.

"More discoveries and significant medical breakthroughs can be made at Flinders, which will have a global impact. The financial support generated by the community is critical to our ongoing work to prevent, cure and care and we can’t thank you all enough,” said Verschoor.

Starting in October, The Cheesecake Shop has announced it will release a ‘Bra Cake’ that will also benefit the campaign. The cake will mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and will be sold at selected stores throughout South Australia for $175 each. From every cake sold, $50 will be donated to the Flinders Foundation. A spokesperson from the Cheesecake shop said that they were pleased to be able to contribute to the worthwhile cause, in addition to the company’s $10,000 dollar donation.

South Australia senior area manager of The Cheesecake Shop, Mark Hanel, said that the company was pleased to be able to contribute to the worthwhile cause.

“So many of us have been touched by cancer ourselves or have had family or friends who have been impacted. We are just glad to create this opportunity for our community to join us in raising much-needed funds for the exceptional work in cancer research and patient care delivered by Flinders Foundation,” said Hanel.
