PLANT-BASED SKYROCKET

The first half of 2019 has seen a 486 percent spike in Beyond Meat’s restaurant and foodservice revenue. In monetary terms, Beyond Meat’s revenue has reached US$53.8 million, in comparison to the $9.2 million in the previous year. On top of this, the foodservice and restaurant revenue only accounts for around half of Beyond Meat’s total income, their retail driving around $53.7 million, as well.

Mark Nelson, Beyond Meat’s CFO, said that the strong sales of their signature Beyond Burger, on top of demand from new venues, for new products contributed to Beyond Meat’s strong year. Despite Beyond Meat’s strong performance to date, there is doubt whether or not the product and brand will be able to stand the test of time.
