Granarolo S.p.A, an Italian dairy company, has bought a majority stake in Venchiaredo, another dairy company. The stakes have risen to 57.47 percent since 2017 when the Granarolo owned 33.47 percent.
Venchiaredo specialises in the production of stracchino and had a turnover of €26.9 million at the end of 2018. Alessandro Driussi, Venchiaredo president, said, “With the integration into the Granarolo Group, we will continue on the path of growth of Venchiaredo, aiming for an annual production of 9300 tons of stracchino.”
Gianpiero Calzolari, president of Granarolo, said, “The operation has already produced for both [companies] results and important synergies on the industrial level and allows Granarolo to follow up on the 2019/2021 Business plan, which among other things, provides for greater production efficiency and greater specialisation of factories.”
