Foodchain has confirmed the purchase of BFG Food Distributors in Auckland.
In conversation with Jonathan Pratt, general manager of Foodchain, Restaurant & Café learned that the acquisition was an opportunity not to be missed.
“Foodchain has a strong presence in the restaurant, café and hotel categories, and the acquisition will allow growth in a new sector,” said Pratt. “The current Foodchain range will allow for an increased basket to existing BFG customers and will allow Foodchain to have a larger range of New Zealand-grown and manufactured products.”
The acquisition goes into effect as of February 1st, but at this stage, there are no major plans to reorganise or reshuffle either company. Pratt said that the companies would look towards proper integration following the finalisation of the purchase.
