You can now get biodegradable coffee cups which are grown from gourds. The cups are grown inside 3D printed coffee cup moulds which give them the perfect shape. Gourds are a fast-growing squash, from the pumpkin family, with a waxy outer shell which when dried out create an ideal vessel for holding liquids.
The design company, Creme in New York are behind the invention and are currently growing the cups on a farm outside the city.
