WINTER COMES TO JOHNNIE WALKER

HBO and whisky label Johnnie Walker have teamed up to create a new, limited edition drink: the White Walker. Named for the antagonists on HBO's hit TV show Game of Thrones, the whisky features Scottish single malts from the Cardhu and Clynelish distilleries.

“Whiskies from Clynelish have endured long, Scottish winters, not dissimilar to the long periods endured by the Night’s Watch who have ventured north of the wall," said Johnnie Walker blender George Harper of the choice in blends. The result is a deep, fruity scotch with notes of caramelised sugar and vanilla.

Game of Thrones is so popular that fans frequently host viewing parties, and HBO's vice-president of licensing and retail, Jeff Peters, saw an opportunity. “We knew there was fan appetite for a Game of Thrones whisky," he said. "Once we saw the vision from Johnnie Walker for a way to collaborate we knew the idea was perfect and the time was now."

The 41.7 percent ABV scotch whisky is perfect for viewing parties or for offering customers during those long, dark nights.
