Updated Tracer App On the Way

Health Minister Chris Hipkins has announced that the NZ COVID Tracer App will be updated this Thursday.

The updates include the ability to enter your National Health number which will help speed up contact tracing and should also help reduce the time Kiwis wait to get a COVID test.

From Thursday you will be able to manually add details to your app diary and the Government will be able to customise the alerts they send out to give specific information about potential outbreak scenarios.

Hipkins also announced that in the next round of updates future features will include a Bluetooth proximity capability, replicating the function of the trialled COVID Card.

These updates should happen automatically without the need for Kiwis to re-download the app onto their devices.
