STREAMLINING ORDERING

A tech-based startup Choco has raised US$33.5 million for its new mobile ordering platform in the foodservice industry. Although the company is but 18-months-old, it has already grown to 100 employees and is spread throughout 15 cities in Europe and the USA. Their list of clients already ranges from Michelin-starred restaurants to burger chains.

The app itself is reminiscent of a traditional messenger app, through which restaurants and suppliers can communicate freely while ordering from a Postmates-like list. The app makes it easy for restaurants to simply tap the things that they want—it’s as easy as that.

Not only is Choco streamlining ordering, but it is also looking to reduce food waste. Better communications and analytics, both of which the app offer, bring the industry one step closer to eliminating food waste.

Choco has said that by the end of 2020, they hope to have expanded to a company that is fifteen times as large.
