Saint Clair has celebrated its recent success at the Marlborough Wine Show, picking up two trophies along the way.

Saint Clair has announced its exciting results from the Marlborough Wine Show. The team has celebrated some very exciting achievements, with two trophies and six gold medals in the 2024 competition.

These awards showcase quality within all four Saint Clair ranges: Reserve, Pioneer Block, Origin, and Vicar's Choice. Among the award-winning wines were Saint Clair’s Reserve Range Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir, each a tribute to the team’s dedication to small-batch winemaking and the value of sourcing the right fruit from the right vineyard sites.

The vineyard won the WineWorks Champion Sauvignon Blanc 2023 and older: Saint Clair Wairau Reserve Sauvignon Blanc 2023, and the Wine Marlborough Champion Chardonnay Current Vintage: Saint Clair Omaka Reserve Chardonnay 2023.

“We’re so incredibly proud of the recent accolades for our wines at the recent Marlborough Wine Show,” said Senior Winemaker Stewart Maclennan, reflecting on the recent success.

“One of Neal’s overarching desires is to provide wines that continually exceed expectations across the board, so it’s a notable milestone for us to produce gold medals across the Saint Clair range from Vicar’s choice up to Reserve tier wines. For me, it really reflects the extraordinary care, effort, and expertise the whole team places on every single wine we grow and produce.”

The 2024 competition season has been one to remember for many Saint Clair wines. The Vicar's Choice Sauvignon Blanc 2023 earned its second gold medal, following recognition at the New World Wine Awards.

The Saint Clair Pioneer Block 10 Twin Hills Chardonnay 2022 has also had a strong showing, receiving gold medals from the Marlborough Wine Show, National Wine Awards of Aotearoa and the Decanter World Wine Awards 2024.

Saint Clair has taken pride in the Wairau Reserve Sauvignon Blanc, which has received over 121 gold medals and 39 trophies since its first release in 2000. The 2023 vintage has continued this trend, earning three gold medals in the past year from the 2023 New Zealand International Wine Show, the 2023 National Wine Awards of Aotearoa, and the 2024 Marlborough Wine Show.

The team at Saint Clair wanted to extend a heartfelt thanks to the panel of experienced judges for their high praise. Also, thanks to the Marlborough Wine Show organising committee, Wine Marlborough, and all competition sponsors for creating such a reputable platform.
