As a key sponsor of the upcoming FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, McDonald’s has launched the first ever ‘fry-thru’ restaurant at Sydney’s Darling Harbour.
The restaurant itself resembled a giant pack of McDonald’s french fries, standing at just over five metres tall, and will serve football fans within the FIFA Fan Festival, as well as members of the public.
Two specially created sauces have been made to celebrate participating countries at the event, such as the Outback BBQ sauce and Wasabi-flavoured mayonnaise.
Brand manager for McDonald’s Australia, David Morris, said that being based in Darling Harbour, the ‘fry-thru’ is the perfect spot for all football fans to come together before or after watching a game.
“We look forward to bringing people together and uniting fans from across the world through our shared love of football and Macca’s,” said Morris.
A range of experiences are also available outside stadiums across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide, and will offer fans a chance to collect memorabilia from the event.
