New Menu and Michelin-star Chef for Harvest

One of the restaurants causing a buzz with its new Michelin-star Chef along with its recently installed charcoal oven is Marlborough’s Harvest restaurant. Located in the vineyards, Harvest is an easy 10 minutes’ drive from the airport and only an hour and a half flight from Auckland.

Their ethos is simple - authenticity. From the genuine first greeting to the final thank you and goodbye, Harvest aims to create a space that celebrates authentic hospitality. This culture flows from the front house through the kitchen and management, ensuring every aspect of the restaurant is guided by this philosophy.

Harvest is a place where guests can relax, engage with the team having their every need anticipated.

The menu is carefully crafted yet very accessible, driven by quality using familiar ingredients found in New Zealand. Seasonal, local produce is used where possible and sustainable practices are used to reduce the environmental impact. Each dish is prepared with care and passion with a ‘fork to fork’ practice by continually evolving and developing the on-site gardens and building relationships with local suppliers.

Harvest works with what they call their local food heroes, letting the excellent produce of Marlborough and greater New Zealand speak for themselves.

Seafood is celebrated with dishes such as a moonfish Niçoise salad, charcoal roasted green shell mussels or baked Tua Tua’s. Enjoy quality New Zealand lamb severed with baked kumara, walnut and celery gremolata or grass-fed beef rump cap steak served with fries, silverbeet and soy butter. And dessert? You can’t look past the roast pineapple served alongside mascarpone cream and scented with Szechwan.

Moreover, Harvest is one of a handful of New Zealand restaurants with a charcoal oven. Many of the dishes contain Harvest’s signature kiss of smoke or char that further develop the flavours of a dish. The ala carte menu changes regularly like the seasonal produce used so that you can be assured of the pick of the crop and that there will always be something new to tempt the taste buds.

Guests can relax inside in the stunning 1901 building, which has recently had its dining rooms refurbed, or make the most of the Marlborough sun on Harvest’s gorgeous deck area looking into the 16 acres of gardens and vineyards.

Letting the produce and ingredients speak for themselves, a carefully curating wine and beverage list to be the perfect food companion and mix that with true New Zealand hospitality in a world-class setting, Harvest is a must do gastronomic experience.
