New Appointment at Merivale Group

Merivale Group has appointed former creative director, Andrea Gualdi, to the role of beverage manager.

With an extensive background in the industry, including his role as co-founder of Maybe Sammy, and a reputation for innovation and award-winning development, Gualdi is expected to enhance Merivale Group's repertoire of more than 90 venues. Gualdi has also worked in the hotel and accommodation sector as the head of food and beverage for Ovolo Hotels' Australian properties.

General Manager of Merivale Group, Franck Moreau, said it was a thrill to welcome Gualdi. He added that his deep industry knowledge and incredible expertise will allow the company to continue innovating and creating the best experiences for its guests.

In his role, Gualdi will be responsible for leading the development and execution of beverage strategies across Merivale's diverse portfolio of venues, including bars, nightclubs, restaurants and event spaces.

Gualdi said that this was an exciting milestone in his career and that Merivale's commitment to pushing the boundaries in hospitality perfectly aligned with his passion for creating unique and memorable drinks. He said that he looks forward to working with the talented teams at Merivale Group to create new beverage offerings that rival the world's best.

Gualdi has also joined the newly awarded 2023 Australian Bartender of the Year, James Irvine, who recently joined Merivale as a group creative cocktail lead after being at four pillars as creative director of gin-based drinks for five years.
