Following three years of operation, Mr Toms has announced that it will close for good. The news was broken via the Mr Toms Facebook page that read “After 3 years of fun, good food, cocktails and service we are very sad and sorry to announce that Mr Toms has closed permanently effective from today.”
This closure comes a few days after diners witnessed a meltdown in the kitchen that lead to chefs walking out on top of 90-minute waits for meals. Jenny Goulding, a spokesperson for Mr Toms, said, “We recognise we overpromised but under-delivered…we thought we could perform but obviously failed.”
The Facebook post was finished with “Look out for an exciting fresh new bar at 151 Ponsonby Road in the next coming months.”
