In between making the most of the “holiday” aspect of her Working Holiday Visa, Hoy Yan Lim can be found with a smile on her face, behind the coffee machine at The Greedy Cow Cafe.
Having just graduated from university in her home country of Malaysia, Lim came to New Zealand last year, looking to both make the most of the New Zealand summer, and expand her coffee making skills and knowledge.
Lim got her first job in a cafe during the summer following her high school graduation. It was here she was first introduced to espresso coffee, and a love was formed. Lim went as far as purchasing her own home espresso machine so she could practise the skills she was learning at work, in her own time.
Lim believes the homemade range of desserts and sweet treats at The Greedy Cow Cafe are top notch and pair perfectly with a cup of coffee, or iced chocolate.
Lim’s coffee of choice is a latte, and she believes a great coffee is the perfect balance of flavourful espresso and glossy steamed milk.
When she’s not at work, Lim will most likely be trekking around New Zealand, experiencing as much of the adventure tourism industry as she can. So far she’s been skydiving, bungee jumping, jet boating, and rafting.
