Khush Wander has been with Catroux for over three years. Her journey to where she is today began when she started working part-time in a cafe while studying back in 2014. Wander soon discovered her passion for coffee and quickly moved to a barista role and has been making coffee ever since.
"I take immense pride in producing delicious coffees six days a week," she said. "My passion is to know more about coffee and how to produce the best coffee,” Wander added that the defining features of a great coffee are a short shot and a creamy foam, all at the perfect temperature.
"The most rewarding aspect of my job is when customers give great feedback - it really motivates me to get better and better."
Allpress has partnered with Catroux to provide its customers with their coffee fix.
Since the pandemic and subsequent lockdowns, cafés have noticed a shift in customers moving towards takeaway coffee as it was the only option for a while. "Customers love to have good looking coffee, but the taste is the most important."
The rise in popularity of plant-based milk and milk alternatives has been prevalent at Catroux. With customers often requesting oat milk. Khush said that regular dairy milk has retained a steady audience.
