Maybe Cocktail Festival Returns

The Maybe Cocktail Festival will return in 2024, with a programme full of mixology-focused events to take place in April.

More than 30 prolific bartenders from around the world will descend on Sydney across nine of Public Hospitality's venues, including popular locations like Maybe Sammy, El Primo Sanches, Busby's, and Dean & Nancy on 22.

The event's itinerary accumulates 21 different events across the five days, which has enticed world-leading bartenders to Sydney's shores. Those making the trip down under include Mexico City’s Handshake Speakeasy; New York’s Dante; Singapore’s Origin Bar; Paris’ Bar Nouveau; Shanghai’s Speak Low and Sober; and Edinburgh’s Panda & Sons.

Melbourne's Caretaker Cottage and Byrdi will also host events throughout the festival.

In 2023, there were only 16 events on the event programme. This caused large crowds and limited availability for festival goers. The five added events in 2024 are expected to ease crowds and prevent venues from being at maximum capacity.

Of the events, 19 of the 21 are free for the public to attend. Organisers of the event said that the main reason for this has been in response to the ongoing cost of living crisis in Australia. The international component of the event has been to enable those who cannot afford overseas travel to sample some of the best hospitality from foreign countries.

The event's full lineup is expected to be released in March.
