Kōparepare Wines has continued its support for LegaSea in order to restore a healthy marine environment in New Zealand.
From Friday 6th to Monday 9th June, Kōparepare wines committed to donating 100 percent from online sales to LegaSea, a non-profit organisation committed to restoring the health of New Zealand’s marine environment.
Samantha White, Kōparepare Brand Ambassador, has a true passion for marine conservation, having spent her first six months of life on a boat in the Pacific Ocean.
“We had a goal of selling 100 cases over the four days, in order to donate 100 percent of the sales to LegaSea. I’m really aware of how hard it is for non-profit organisations when living costs are high, that’s why we want to give as much of a boost as possible to help fund their important work,” she said.
The campaign was part of a wider partnership between Kōparepare Wines and LegaSea, supporting its tireless efforts to restore New Zealand’s marine environments and support marine abundance. Throughout the year, Kōparepare donates to LegaSea with every bottle sold. For sales through the Kōparepare website, that’s NZD 2.50 per bottle or NZD 30 per case. To date, sales of Kōparepare wines have raised over NZD 185,000 for LegaSea.
“The 100 percent campaign is a yearly highlight for LegaSea. The campaign itself raises vital public awareness of our organisation, while the generous donations from Kōparepare Wines directly support our work to restore our coastal fisheries. These funds help drive initiatives like The Kai Ika Project, a kaupapa dedicated to redistributing (previously wasted) fish parts to communities who value and enjoy this nutritious taonga (treasure),” said Sam Woolford, LegaSea Lead.
Kōparepare (gift or contribution in Te Reo Māori) helped to fund the work of LegaSea, a non-profit organisation committed to restoring the abundance, biodiversity and health of New Zealand’s marine environment.
Funds raised from the Kōparepare range of wines have supported various LegaSea campaigns, including the Coromandel Scallop Restoration Programme to help restore the scallop life to abundance in the Coromandel.
