Karen Bozic has stepped down from her role as CEO of Craveable Brands, taking on a new role in a different sector later this year.

Following the resignation of Brett Houldin in late 2019, Bozic has been at the helm for the past six years. During her tenure, she oversaw the acquisition of Chargrill Charlie’s to the Craveable Brands portfolio in 2023, joining its other chains Chicken Treat, Oporto and Red Rooster.

Partner at PAG Capital, the parent company of Craveable Brands, and chair of the Craveable Brands Board, Lincoln Pan, said Bozic had played an important role in securing the success and longevity of the company.

“Karen’s leadership has been instrumental in shaping Craveable Brands into the success it is today. We thank her for her dedication, have fully supported her transition into her new role and wish her every success in her next chapter,” said Pan.

When taking on the role as CEO, Bozic said she looked forward to working with the restaurant teams and partners in ensuring Craveable Brands continued to deliver a fantastic experience for its customers. She added it was a great business for both partners and the team.

Gold Coast-based QSR and casual dining executive Brian Moore celebrated Bozic’s impact on the company.

“Congratulations on what you've achieved, Karen, successfully leading the company through the other side of the pandemic, a shame to see you leave the restaurant sector.”

Chief Financial Officer Tim Fawaz has been appointed as an interim group CEO while the board undertakes the search for a permanent successor.

After training as a chartered accountant and graduating from the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Bozic spent nine years in Arthur Andersen before joining the Rebel Group as it’s Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer. She went on to hold various general management roles at BigW and Woolworths, as well as Ampol (formerly Caltex) as its general manager of retail before moving to Craveable Brands.
