Iconic chef Heston Blumenthal will pay a visit to Auckland as part of a promotional run for his new BBQ range. The celebrity chef will be hosting an event on October 30 at Kauri Bay’s Boomrock Estate to promote the new Everdure BBQ.
Three of Blumenthal’s chefs will be joining him to help prepare the multi-course degustation meal cooked on the BBQs. The invitation-only event is said to include some of New Zealand’s top chefs along with public figures.
"It will be a showcase with him on centre stage and everybody watching," Boomrock owner Ollie Ormond said. Blumenthal is best known for being a pioneer of molecular gastronomy, in particular at his three-Michelin starred restaurant The Fat Duck.
