GIWC Top 20 | Vigneti Romio Spumante Rosato Extra Dry DOC C6 NV

The Vigneti Romio Spumante Rosato Extra Dry DOC C6 NV and the Vigneti Romio Sangiovese Superiore Riserva DOC 2018 are two GIWC top 20 winners from the Caviro Group, an Italian winegrowers cooperative.

Founded in 1996, Caviro consists of numerous partners that contribute to high-quality wine production. Grapes are grown in almost every region of Italy, with over one million vineyards under cultivation. It has economic, social and environmental sustainability at the heart of its practices. The Vigneti Romio project aims to improve wine quality, with Caviro’s best Romagna winemakers and most representative grape varieties. Each bottle hopes to tell the ancient story of Romagna.

The Spumante Rosato Extra Druis is a young and modern wine, made for easy drinking. Also from Romagna, it is influenced by the vineyard's proximity to the sea, which adds a level of salinity and freshness to the sparkling bottle.

"It is fruity, floral and has dominant notes of red fruits and hints of peach, resulting in a delightfully fresh and aromatic bouquet. On the palate it is fresh, tasty and crunchy, the perlage is fine and pleasant," said Riccardo Maraldi, Winemaking Manager.

The grapes are harvested from the end of August to the beginning of September, producing the light flavours that allow the wine to age for up to three years - “It is so good, why wait so long when you can enjoy it now?” Best enjoyed as an aperitif, with desserts or with a light fish-based meal this wine is for the bubble lovers. It is a conversation starter, a toast to celebrations, and an accompaniment to great food, music and company.
