GIWC Top 20 | Botter Prosecco Extra Dry DOC NV

The Botter Prosecco Extra Dry DOC NV is a GIWC top 20 winner from Veneto Italy. The classic wine comes from nearly a century of family experience and one of Italy’s largest wine producers and exporters.

Botter winery was founded in 1928 by Carlo and Maria Botter in Fossalta di Piave, a small town near Venice. It started off as a small business selling local wines in barrels and demijohns. In the ‘60s their two sons, Arnaldo and Enzo joined the company and began selling bottled wine while boosting the company’s presence in both the Italian and international markets.

The 70s and 80s both saw a continued increase in sales for Botter, with new wines from Treviso, Abruzzo, Campania, Puglia and Sicily marking the start of its multi-territorial approach. At the end of the ‘90s, the third generation of Botter’s entered the company - Annalisa, Alessandro and Luca. They adopted a new business model to suit the needs of a dynamic global market and helped grow the winery to where it is today.

The cooling breeze from the nearby alps and optimal sun exposure on the Prosecco hills, enhance the elegance of the Botter bubbles. As a versatile wine, it is suitable for every occasion, from easy drinking to being a pleasant aperitif or enhancing everyday meals. The prosecco is fresh and light on the palate, it has balanced acidity and the body consists of aromas of green apple, peach and subtle notes of acacia.

The most unique aspect of the Botter wine is that it is a true symbol of the Venetian identity and homage to where the winery began at the turn of the last century. The Prosseco is also Botter’s best ambassador on the worldwide market.

This winning bottle can be shelved for two years, however, the fresher the better. It is for lovers of contemporary classic wines and dynamic people who stand out for their sophistication.
