April Fools’ Day is the reason we have trust issues. Brands roll out mash-ups so wild they vanish faster than your willpower in a drive-thru. But this time, Wendy’s fans weren’t playing.
What started as a one-day April 1 prank has now been memed into existence by dessert die-hards who refused to let it go. No longer a throwaway gag, the Baconator Frosty is here, a creamy vanilla Frosty swirled with caramel drizzle, studded with candied bacon chips and slicked with maple-flavoured syrup. Crowned with crispy bacon bits, it’s sweet, salty, unapologetically bold, and 100 percent destined to flood your feeds.
The Frosty may be the main character, but September is a full-cast reunion. Wendy’s is celebrating its cult Baconator range in style, rolling out the OG Baconator (double beef, double cheese, double bacon, say less), the crunchy Chickenator, loaded Baconator Fries, and the ultimate fan favourite comeback, the Cheesenator. Basically, the Avengers of fast food assembled for maximum bacon brilliance.
“The Baconator isn’t just a burger, it’s baked into Wendy’s DNA here in New Zealand,” Corina Black, Wendy’s ANZ Chief Marketing Officer. “Kiwis know it, love it and this year they’ve called the shots, the Cheesenator is back, alongside the Baconator Frosty, the salty-sweet masterpiece they demanded make it to the real-life menu.”
The Baconator, Chickenator and Baconator Fries are staying put year-round, but the Cheesenator and the internet-breaking Baconator Frosty are strictly here for a good time, not a long time, available nationwide this September, while stocks last.
