EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST FOR LEVIN CAFÉ

The Horowhenua District Council is seeking expressions of interest from café operators to lease and operate the Libretto café within the Te Takeretanga o Kura-hau-pō centre. Located in Levin, Te Takeretanga o Kura-hau-pō is a specially designed and developed multi-purpose cultural and community facility which attracts 450,000 visitors each year.

“We’re conscious that the café is valued by our community and we aim to have a new leaseholder in place by the time the current lease expires to ensure it stays open continuously,” said Horowhenua District Council’s community facilities and events manager Brent Harvey.

The café has its own space at the heart of the facility and is a popular spot for people and groups to meet. Current leaseholders Matt and Julie Bell decided not to renew the lease to focus on their other business. There would be no redundancies or loss of work hours, and all current staff will transfer to Bell’s Focal Point Cinema and Café.
