US | Eminem Launches Mom’s Spaghetti Restaurant in New York

In celebration of the 20th anniversary of his debut film “8 Mile”, Rapper Eminem is opening his concept restaurant, Mom’s Spaghetti, in New York’s SoHo neighbourhood for a limited time.

Originally debuting in downtown Detroit, Mom’s Spaghetti was named after the famous first verse of Eminem’s “Lose Yourself”, a single written for “8 Mile”, a critical and box office success based on Eminem's journey into hip hop. The smash hit sold more than 10 million copies and was awarded two Grammys in 2004.

Located in a temporary space launched in partnership with Spotify, the restaurant is decorated using Mom’s Spaghetti’s iconic red and white colour palette. Its simple menu centres around home-style spaghetti, which is served plain or with meatballs. Vegan meatballs or “rabbit balls” are also available.“Sghetti” sandwiches, a dish that features a scoop of pasta nestled between two pieces of buttered bread, was named by Eminem as his favourite item on the menu.

To secure an entry slot, attendees are required to RSVP on the restaurant's website. Those that secure a spot can expect to be greeted with recreations of the “8 Mile” set and given access to limited edition and exclusive Mom's Spaghetti merchandise. Apparel celebrating the film and Eminem’s vinyl records will also be available for purchase.
