COVID-19 | 13 September Update

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has announced that Auckland will remain at Alert Level 4 until 11.59pm, Tuesday 21 September. Ideally, the region will then go down to Alert Level 3. Cabinet will continue to meet before that decision is made.

The rest of the country will remain in Delta Level 2 until next Tuesday.

Both the Wage Subsidy and the Resurgence Support Payment will be available to eligible businesses, whether the business is in Auckland and at Level 4 or not.

Ardern noted that Alert Level 4 lockdown has worked and she iterated that there was no widespread community transmission in Auckland.

“It has helped us get the outbreak under the control, but we’re not finished yet.”

The Prime Minister thanked Auckland for its effort and continued to urge everyone throughout the country to get tested and vaccinated.
