Court of Master Sommeliers Oceania Returns to Auckland

Four years since it was last on New Zealand shores, the Court of Master Sommeliers Oceania will return to Auckland this September.

Offering the world’s most prestigious certification programme for sommeliers and hospitality officials, the Cout of Master Sommeliers Oceania will host a three-hour tasting and intensive workshop for professionals interested in learning more about the Court of Master Sommeliers on the 18th of June, 2023, in Auckland.

Established in 1977, the association was formed to promote excellence in hotel and restaurant beverage services. The extensive education and examination process culminates with the highly prestigious Master Sommelier Diploma Examination.

Chair of Master Sommeliers Oceania, Franck Moreau, said that it is a thrill to return to Auckland to offer the formal certification programme.

“We would warmly encourage individuals currently employed within  Auckland’s hospitality industry to come along to our 3-hour workshop and tasting on June 18, where they can participate in a blind tasting and workshop led by New Zealand Master Sommelier Cameron Douglas and  Advanced Sommelier Andrea Martinisi,” said Moreau.

The workshop will be a chance to participate in a blind tasting, under the watchful eye of a Master Sommelier, without needing to commit to the full three-day programme in September.

The three-hour workshop and tasting is from 9 am until 12 pm, at a cost of AU$50 per person. The Introductory Sommelier Certificate three-day programme will be from the 17th until the 19th of September, and will cost AU$992.89 per person, with the one-day examination taking place on the 19th, costing $575.29.
