CORONAVIRUS UPDATE: PRIME MINISTER MEETING WITH HOSPITALITY NZ

Hospitality New Zealand along with Business NZ, Export NZ, Horticulture NZ and CTU held a meeting with the Prime Minister, Minister of Finance and Hon Phil Twyford to discuss economic impacts and business support required.

This meeting took place prior to Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern's announcement that $4 million would be made available to support businesses impacted by COVID-19. The government will put in place a Rapid Response Network via Regional Business Networks.

Hospitality NZ shared directly with the Prime Minister the impacts on the sector and member hardships - asking the Prime Minister to support members through fiscal policy assistance such as wage subsidies.

Hospitality New Zealand has said it will be in touch with members shortly with a survey, to gather information about the effects COVID-19 has had on businesses.
