Cookie Monster Cafe Takes Over Melbourne

Cookie Monster

In an homage to the street where the air is sweet, Melbourne is now home to its own Cookie Monster Cafe.

Bringing one of the most beloved children’s characters from Sesame Street, the Cookie Monster Cafe has been described as being full of fun, flavour, and nostalgia. This is the first Cookie Monster Cafe to open anywhere in the world, and will serve customers for a limited time.

Located in Melbourne Central, the cafe is bursting with a playful and detailed menu designed for customers of all ages.

Customers can enjoy the Cookie Monster Double Choc Cookie, the Cookie Monster OM NOM Donut, Oscar’s Trashy Pistachio Swirl Donut, and Ernie’s Crème Brûlée Donut. Signature drinks include the Cookie Monster Milkshake made with blue spirulina and banana, the Milk n' Cookies shake, and the delicious Blue Lychee Refresher.

There are also gluten-free and vegan choices, smaller portions, and snack packs made for sharing on-the-go.

Complete with the Cookie Monster’s signature blue colour, and lots of chocolate chip cookies scattered around, the cafe also stocks an assortment of Sesame Street Merchandise, such as soft toys, apparel and drinkware.

The Cookie Monster himself was on hand for the grand opening celebrations earlier in the month, and so far, the online reviews from customers have been full of praise. Parents said it had become the perfect school holiday activity.

While it’s the first stand-alone Cookie Monster cafe, Tokyo has been home to the Sesame Street Market for the past two years. Found in Ikebukuro’s Sunshine City, the Market has a café attached, decked out with exposed brick walls and checkerboard floors to imitate a traditional American diner.

A closing date for the Cookie Monster Cafe in Melbourne has not yet been publicly announced; however, customers have been advised to schedule their visit soon.
