CHEFS PAY TRIBUTE TO ROBUCHON

Hundreds of chefs and culinary students gathered in Poitiers over the weekend to pay tribute to late chef Joel Robuchon, who died earlier this month. Chefs, mainly dressed in their whites but with some in black, met in the town where Robuchon was born.

A large portrait of Robuchon was hung above Saint Pierre's Cathedral where a smaller ceremony was held, before a larger gathering was held outside the town hall.

Chef Thierry Marx paid tribute to Robuchon. "[He] was an example of what can be achieved through hard work. He showed that you can grow a lot in society through the fruits of your labour."
